Castle cove is a privately owned sandy beach found at the bottom of Old Castle road and open to the public. It is also home to one of Weymouths local sailing clubs. This picture shows Castle cove from the Rodwell trail with the ruined Sandsfoot castle standing guard over Portland harbour. The Breakwater can be seen protecting the boats in Portland harbour while the Breakwater fort is out of shot to the right of the picture. The Sandy Castle Cove beach is just out of shot to the left of the picture. On a clear sunny day, the beach is very popular at Castle cove.
